Jessica joined the Mirasee community as a student in February of 2013, and then joined the company as a member of the Education team in the fall of 2014. And now, after a few years away, she’s excited to rejoin the team and put her coach hat back on to once again support students of the Course Builders Laboratory.
Jessica has embraced the role of teacher in many different forms throughout her career: first as a Music Education major at University, then a high school/middle school band director, and a private music instructor. She also taught graphic design to middle school students as part of a career academy at a local community college, and became a certified Hatha yoga teacher in the spring of 2014.
With well over 400,000 words written since her first NaNoWriMo in 2007, as the former Managing Blog Editor at Ruzuku, Editorial “Jill of All Trades” at Get Storied, and as an alumna of several well-known blogging and writing courses, Jessica has a love for – and a deep understanding of – all things content marketing.
Having moved around the United States a lot in the past ten years, Jessica has come full circle and decided to put down roots in her hometown, a beautiful spot in the Appalachian mountains on the western edge of Virginia. She lives there with her partner and their dogs on a 171 acre farm where they can only (kind of) see one neighbor’s house.
When she’s not tapping away diligently on her laptop, Jessica can be found on her yoga mat, meditating on the front porch, in the kitchen, with her nose in a book, or wandering around in nature with dogs by her side. Feel free to look her up on Instagram (@JescaAustin) or send her an email anytime!
