Navigating Problematic Emotions (Leisa Peterson)

  • Episode #4

Using money as a context, Dr. O’Brien and Leisa Peterson discuss problematic emotions, the activation of the amygdala, and how these can feed into self-sabotage. But good news: There are a couple of simple tools we can all use to navigate these feelings.

Welcome to Neuroscience of Coaching. In each episode, host Dr. Irena O’Brien explains the science-based insights behind a particular concept and interviews a coach to discuss how these apply in the real world. Just as she does in her professional programs, Irena “un-complicates” neuroscience and teaches practical evidence-based tools and strategies that listeners can use in their coaching practices.

Leisa Peterson brings a three-decade tenure in finance to her work as a strategic advisor and financial intuitive. She also hosts two podcasts and is the author of The Mindful Millionaire.

“I got really fascinated with why some people are great with money and other people struggle their whole life with it. Sometimes people have money and still worry all the time. Or people don’t have any money and don’t worry about it.”
