Going the Extra Mile (Debra Cady)

  • Episode #72

With a solid 30-plus-year career in mental health, Debra Cady pivoted into course creation for her next chapter. She became a Mirasee student for its education and a Ruzuku customer for its platform — and she’s now excited to be teaching her gift.

Debra Cady is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and CEO/Founder of Silver Linings International.  SLI offers facilitation, coaching, consulting, and training on how to achieve strength-based, positive change for individuals and organizations.

Danny and Abe talk with Debra about her pivot from being a mental-health professional to becoming a course creator and entrepreneur.

This episode covers:

  • Debra’s experience before course creation and how she pivoted into it
  • Starting with her pilot course
  • Pricing her course properly
  • Working out the educational design aspects of her course
  • Her evaluation tools
  • How her course changed her work
  • Danny and Abe’s debrief
“I was terrified and I was afraid and I did it anyway. And I created a tribe for myself, people who believed in me, and kept the people who didn’t away.”
