From D2C Exit to Fractional CMO: Building a Portfolio Career at 43
- Episode #308
What does it take to rebuild your career after exiting your business? Neha Indoria shares her journey from D2C founder to fractional CMO and coach with Michi Lantz. She reveals why starting fresh means starting fresh—no matter your experience level.

Neha Indoria is a three-time founder, Fractional CMO, and ICF Certified Coach with 20 years of experience across finance, enterprise, entrepreneurship, and brand building. She began her career managing capital and distributor relationships at HSBC Asset Management before moving to IIFL Private Wealth, where she learned how investors think, how money moves, and how trust is built in high-stakes financial relationships.
She then spent four and a half years in business development and client engagement at Infosys, gaining insight into how large organisations make buying decisions and how to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
In 2015, Neha co-founded Couched, a design-driven furniture brand for urban homes, which she bootstrapped to profitability while leading marketing, product strategy, and customer experience. In 2019, she co-founded Boingg!, India’s first kids-focused D2C furniture brand, raising angel funding across four rounds and scaling across e-commerce and offline channels, where she became the de facto CMO out of necessity.
Today, through Founder’s F.I.T, Neha works with early-stage founders as a Fractional CMO, building their marketing from the ground up, and as an ICF Certified Coach, helping them lead with greater clarity and confidence. Her work is grounded in the lessons she learned firsthand from building, selling, raising, and figuring things out as a founder.
