From 60-Hour Weeks to Intentional Living and Life Design Freedom
- Episode #337
What happens when a corporate overachiever finally asks what she actually wants? Kara Troester shares her journey from 60-hour weeks to intentional living, launching two businesses, and her List of 100 Dreams exercise that helps high-achieving women rediscover happiness.

Kara Troester spent 15 years climbing the corporate ladder in tech consulting — and burning herself out in the process. What started as a desperate search for balance turned into something she never expected: a complete reimagining of what her life could look like.
While still in corporate, she built She Boss Life, a community for high-achieving women who are succeeding by every external measure but quietly wondering if there’s more. When she finally left her corporate career in early 2026, she did something no one saw coming — including her. She traded PowerPoints for mimosas and launched Forage, a mobile snack and cocktail cart business.
Today Kara is building two businesses simultaneously, figuring it out in real time, and bringing her She Boss Life community along for the ride. Her mission is simple: help women stop operating on autopilot and start actually living.
