Best Call to Action Words and Template [INFOGRAPHIC]

The words we use in life matter.

The words we use in our call to actions (CTAs) also matter and could mean the difference between zero sign ups and sales or hundreds. And just like A/B testing for your landing pages and ad copies, trying different versions of CTAs also makes a significant impact when it comes to boosting the conversion rates of your sales funnels and email marketing efforts.

Even just changing a single word could make a vast difference. Unbounce changed “Start your free 30 day trial” to “Start my free 30 day trial” and saw a 90% increase in their CTR.

Check out this helpful (and cute) infographic courtesy of the good folks at TechWyse.

Best Call to Action Words (and Some Templates)

Don’t Forget to Test!

Just like headlines, readers and potential clients won’t be able to turn away from a good CTA. But does just plugging in some words from this infographic into one of the templates ensure your success?

The short answer: Nope.

Sure you could hit on a winner right out of the gate, but more often, you’ll need to see what works best for your audience. Depending on your niche, “No risk” could bombed but “No Obligation” could make your sales numbers soar.

As with everything in our business, test, test, test. Once you’ve got your call to action copy written, there’s even more fun things to test! Colors, buttons, button placement, all affect the effectiveness of your CTA.

But you’ve got to start somewhere. And writing the darn thing is a great way to start.

Over to you. Have you tested different CTA copy? Noticed a difference? Let me know in the comments!
